Snow Graves vs. Relic cards Empty Snow Graves vs. Relic cards

Message par Jhaelen Mer 16 Nov 2011 - 21:04

The day before the tournament in Liège the question came up if 'Snow Graves' could prevent Relic cards (exemplified by 'Khopesh of the Abyss') from being shuffled into a player's deck after it (or the character it was attached to) entered the discard pile.

I've now received a reply from Damon:
[...]The Relic cards that have been released shuffle themselves into the deck as a passive effect, "After they have left play." Snow Graves is a constant effect, applied to each card in the discard pile the moment it becomes a part of it. In order for a card to go from in-play to any place other than the discard pile if it was being destroyed/discarded/sacrificed if Snow Graves was in play, is if it was a replacement effect using the word "instead." Since it does not say "When Khopesh of the Abyss leaves play, instead shuffle it into its owner's deck." it must go to the discard pile, where Snow Graves immediately applies its effect.

In other words, 'Snow Graves' indeed prevents Relic cards from being shuffled into a player's deck!

Perhaps he was waiting for a second person to ask the same question Wink

So far, I've always received an answer, IIRC, although it sometimes takes a while (about a week). This reply I received within an hour after asking, so, yes, luck does play a part Smile

I've not yet received an answer about the Conspiracy oddities you identified and Dr. Bartlett's ability. Wish me luck Cool
