Ca devient complètement ridicule cette liste. Je commençais à avoir un deck dont j'étais content, il faut tout recommencer, à 15 jours du tournoi. Vraiment décourageant.

Il n'y a pratiquement plus rien de stable si on enlève la Shocking et le Festival. C'est en effet pas évident.
Si ça peut te consoler, je viens de jeter deux decks sur les trois que je playtestais -- le dernier étant miraculeusement passé entre les mailles du filet. B_P a encore certainement deux decks valides à l'heure actuelle, donc je pense qu'il reste possible de construire quelque chose.

Maintenant, cette FAQ résout le problème du Y-train de Capor: sans Shocking ni Festival, le deck est mort contre un simple rush ou même une bête Snow Graves (du fait qu'il ne pourra plus fetcher ce qu'il lui faut pour la virer).

C'est quand même mon préféré qui tombe. Heureusement d'ailleurs, il n'aurait jamais été premier du tournoi. Au moins comme ça, je suis décomplexé, je vais pouvoir me tourner le cœur léger vers d'autres decks.

Pour info, certains joueurs étrangers resteront à l'hôtel Best Westen L'Univers (près de la Gare TGV des Guillemins). Le tarif est correct (Liège n'est pas une ville très chère) est les chambres sont confortables: http://www.hotelunivers.be/francais/notre-h%C3%B4tel/

Si vous préférez la jouer économique (et dépenser plus vos sous à la convention de jeu...   ), on peut essayer de trouver un logement chez un joueur. Merci de vous manifester auprès de moi (soit par e-mail (cfr l'affiche) soit par mp) afin que j'essaie de trouver des hôtes.

Pour les lifts: samedi matin, vers 9h00, il y aura un "départ" de la gare des Guillemins vers la salle, pour ceux qui seraient dans les parages.

Niveau hébergement, je pense que tout le monde est hébergé (hôtel ou "chez l'habitant"). Si vous êtes encore "sans logement", merci de me contacter AU PLUS VITE afin qu'on s'arrange.

Manuel a annulé sa participation. Je ne sais pas ce qu'il en est de Jhaelen, dont j'attends la réponse. Sur CardgameDB, il a l'air bien démotivé...

Well, it certainly made the deck I planned to bring illegal. And without Shocking Transformation it doesn't work. And I don't have any alternative right now, since my two previous tournament-level decks were already made illegal with the last FAQ! Unfortunately, building decks always takes me a lot of time and I don't really want to bring a deck that is completely untested.

These are just a few of several reasons why I'm currently contemplating not to participate this year.

Well, it certainly made the deck I planned to bring illegal. And without Shocking Transformation it doesn't work. And I don't have any alternative right now, since my two previous tournament-level decks were already made illegal with the last FAQ! Deckbuilding is NOT the whole thing. For me, meeting, chating, playing and socializing with a bunch of friendly players is far more important than the competition.

Hope we will meet each other. BTW, if you wanna know, I haven't even started yet to deckbuild myself.

And two other "pioneers" have told me they will come: Jekothalep and Ronny, from Luxemburg.

Come'on boys, don't be spoiled by Damon's stupid moves!

I just want to say to you Shocking Transformation is not banned into tournaments, just on the restricted list so you can play it!!

Michael has canceled his participation and warned me yesterday, since I would have been his host in the case he had come.

Honestly, I understand his point. I had a Logan/Shocking deck in preparation that used new ideas and underexploited cards to create surprise. Now I am pretty sure I will play a much simpler deck, which is not completely to my taste.

Thanks, but I am aware of that. Before the FAQ my deck used one restricted card that is central to it and after the FAQ it used three restricted cards (it also uses The Festival). I could probably have salvaged the deck if only The Festival had been added to the restricted list, but not with both Shocking Transformation _and_ The Festival.

What I find (not so) funny, is that my old Liege deck now has a whopping four restricted cards: Khopesh, Museum Curator, Infernal Obsession, and Stygian Eye, and the deck I created as a follow-up at the end of last year also has three restricted cards: Initiate of Huang Hun, Markus Jamberg, and Twilight Gate. So both decks had been invalidated just as thoroughly as my latest deck by the previous FAQ.

There is apparently really only a very small window in which you can create and play a deck featuring cards that you have recognized to be really powerful before it is invalidated by a new FAQ. I suppose the lesson learned for me is not place all my bets on a single deck.

Since I have found a regular play partner, I have more opportunities to test decks now, and in fact I have currently three (casual) decks that I use. We don't use the complete card pool yet, though, since the other player can only slowly catch up and buy all of the cards, cycle by cycle. But until next year he should have caught up, so I'm hopeful to have alternative decks ready when another FAQ strikes shortly before the tournament.

Anyway, long story short: I wish everyone a fun tournament and look forward to read reports and investigate the deck ideas you have come up with! I'm quite sure we'll see each other again next year

You only play broken cards... that woudn't have happened with a mono syndicate based on catastrophic explosion and zoogs...  

The thing is that almost all decks with recursive effect are just dead by now because everyone with some brains just bet on festival + jamburg + something to kill.

Now, Like every one, I have to deckbuild something really fast. Last year I won with a deck I managed to deckbuild the day before the tournament. I'll probably try to reiterate the operation this year too. But I think it's the way to win coc tournament these last 4 years : deckbuild, in the fastest way possible, the most unbalanced deck just under the restricted list level of power cards. And that is something that Capor is good at.

Very nice tournament. The level was very high and I had a very good time.

If I am not mistaken, the best results are:

1- Graham (rush/destruction Cthulhu/Miska)
2- mzi (destruction Yog/Cthulhu)
3- Gman (*) & Ray (similar to Graham's)
5- Sectario (rush/destruction Cthulhu/Miska)

I cannot spoil too much Graham's deck. He ran a miska/cthulhu rush deck without investigation and won every game in less than 15 minutes (except the final, which took a bit longer). All I can say is that the combination of that player and that deck was truly unbeatable. I am not ashamed to have lost to this champion!

I will post my deck on cardgameDB as soon as possible, but I am off to another tournament today (Hell Dorado)!

(*) Gman is new to the LCG game. He ran the deck of the second at the last GenCon.

I'll post a complete report later on this week when I'll have more time.

Hi Guys,

I had a great time. Some really nice matches.
Congrats to Graham which deserved the title with his deck which was a very clever build.

I finished sixth place but had a very nice battle against Gman in the quarter finals.
Was nice to see a lot of people from Spain and they did a very nice introduction.

Did no one play yithians?

I did not see any yithian mill decks, but I heard someone played it and that someone ended last. Not sure though.
But what im quite sure about is that there wasnt any yithian mill deck in the top 8.
